For users of cast gate valves,APl 600 is the key document. lt details all design material criteria. APl 600 also lists important dimensions such asstem diameter minimums, wall thickness and stuffing box size. Cast, globe and check valves can also referencethis standard for wall thickness and other design criteria. Another important gate valve standard is ASME B16.34This standard outlines reauirements on valves constructed to ASME boiler code pressure temperature ratings. Oneimportant area in which APl 600 differs from ANSl B16.34 is minimum wall thickness. APl 600 requires a heavierwall for a given pressure rating than does ASME B16.34. APl 603 is optionaly used for 150# and 300# stainlesssteel valves and allows a lighter wall thickness than APl 600.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>Cast Check Valves -APl 594 &amp; API 6D<br \/>Check valves are manufactured to APl 6D (full opening pipeline swing check valves) and AP! 594 swing, tilt &amp; dualplate check. Valves manufactured APl 594 &amp; APi 6D stocked by Global Supply Line also conform to ANSl B16.34wall thickness and other desian criteria, APl 594 meets &amp; surpasses the reguirements of BS 1868. AP1 594 alsoensures a heavier wall thickness than APl 594. BS 1868 is redundant (not updated since 1975) but is stil used forlight industrial swing check valves. APl 594 meets &amp; surpasses the requirements of BS 1868 and if there for dualconforming. Piston check valves can be manufactured to APl 6D or ASME B16.34 dual confomming to BS 1873.Wall thickness in accordance with APl 594.<\/p>\r\n<p><br \/>Cast Globe Valves -APl 623<br \/>Globe Valves are manufactured to APl 623. They are also made in accordance with ASME B16.34 (AP1 623reouires a heavier wall thickness than B16.34). B$1868 is redundant (not updated since 1975) but may still beused for light industnial valves. APl 623 meets and surpasses the requirements of BS 1873 and is there for dualconforming.<br \/>Forged Gate, Globe &amp; Check Valves .APl 602<br \/>Small forged carbon steel gate, globe &amp; check valves in 150#, 300#, 600#, 800# &amp; 1500# class valves are coveredby AP1 602. BS 5352 is now obsolete and covered by IS0 15761 which also incorporates APl 602 and coversup to 2500 class. Forged check, gate &amp; globe valves in 2500# are also manufactured to ANS1 B16.34. API 602specification covers the same details for small forged valves that APl 600 does for larger valves.
